Fortnite players have recieved yet another 90s icon, as Will Smith makes his way into the battle royale as Mike Lowry from Bad Boys.
Fortnite has been on a roll as of late, as it continues to introduce new iconic skins to the game. In the last month we have seen Wonder Woman, Ariana Grande and Gamora make their way into the game. After a leak last week, Fortnite has confirmed yet another skin which will get any fans of ’90s action excited.
WHAT YA GONNA DO?
Will Smith’s Mike Lowry was one of two in the 1995 buddy cop action film. Starring alongside Martin Lawrence, Smith returned for Bad Boys 2 in 2003, and Bad Boys For Life in 2020. The series is known for its high octane action, witty humour, and R-rating.
While the likes of Wonder Woman are more immediately recognisable, I like that Fortnite is continuing to include older references. However, I reckon there will be a lot of Fortnite players who recognise the new skin as Will Smith, without knowing the character its referencing. We have seen older pop-culture characters enter Fortnite in the past, such as Blade, Tomb Raider, and Ellen Ripley.
It would be nice if duo squads could see Lawrence’s Marcus Bunett arrive as well, to reunite the Bad Boys once more. However, while Smith has embraced newer mediums with his own YouTube channels, Lawrence has taken a step back from the Hollywood limelight.
The Mike Lowry skins is available to purchase in the item store now. You’ll be able to snatch up this skin for the usual price of 1500 V-Bucks, but these skins typically only last a limited time, so be sure to get it while you can.
