The Warzone 2 map has been leaked, courtesy of journalist Tom Henderson, and it’s already looking good.
Warzone 2 is expected to release in 2023,not too long after Modern Warfare 2 comes out. The next Call of Duty game will release on October 28th, 2022.
We’ve got our first look at the full map coming to Warzone 2, with full points of interest. The map was shared with Try Hard Guides, and all credit goes to Tom Henderson for the leak.
The new map shows a lot of new points of interest. There’s also a big section at the bottom with water, which players should be able to swim through.
Warzone 2 Leaked – Classic Maps Return
Interestingly, Henderson suggested that some of the points of interest are based on classic Modern Warfare 2 maps. For example, Quarry is based on the classic map of the same name. Airport is apparently Terminal, Highrise is somewhere in the city and Afghan and Favela are reportedly on the map as well.
This map definitely lines up with everything we’ve heard so far. Henderson is an established insider, so there’s no reason to believe this map is fake. However, we should take the details with a grain of salt until we get an official confirmation.
Regardless, Call of Duty: Warzone fans have a lot to look forward to. It looks like the new map has a lot of potential to exceed what came before it. Hopefully it’ll be the best one yet when it launches next year with Warzone 2.
In addition, a new mode called “DMZ” has been leaked for Modern Warfare 2. It’s reportedly based on features from Escape From Tarkov, and could take place on the same map as Warzone. It’s a new gamemode where players fight each other and complete objectives before extracting.
