Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Release Date Revealed

Most likely on the current-gen version of Call of Duty’s typical platforms; PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S; the official Modern Warfare 2 release date is October 28th 2022. While the new Call of Duty game could still be on older hardware like the PS4 or Xbox One, we’re yet to know at this time. The same goes for whether there would be a downgraded version on the Nintendo Switch.

Soon after posting the official artwork reveal, Activision also went to spread word of the Modern Warfare 2 release date on the Call of Duty Twitter account as well.

Returning from the original Modern Warfare, the artwork reveal also confirmed the return of characters, Kyle, Ghost, and series favourite – Captain Price. One of the new characters in the game will be Soap, the original Modern Warfare’s protagonist.

The return to the Modern Warfare series seems like a welcome move to Call of Duty fans. Afterall, 2021’s Call of Duty Vanguard sales dropped down massively compared to the previous year’s Cold War.

On a new Call of Duty blog talking more about the game’s Task Force 141, we’re being told to “stay tuned for more intel; this official artwork begins the ultimate reveal of the Call of Duty franchise’s future”. So, it will be interesting to see what else is to come.
