Leaked Modern Warfare 2 Mode Is Similar To ‘Escape From Tarkov’

Modern Warfare 2 (not that one) has finally been announced by Infinity Ward, and a leak has offered details on a mode similar to Escape From Tarkov.

Modern Warfare 2 is a follow-up to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a reboot of the 2007 game of the same name. While the naming conventions are getting confusing, the games themselves aren’t – it’s more Call of Duty. However, there’s a potential leak for a big new mode.

Modern Warfare 2 x Escape From Tarkov – What’s The Leak?

Call of Duty insider TheGhostofHope has suggested a new mode called DMZ will release in beta. This mode features similar gameplay mechanics as Escape From Tarkov. That includes more realistic action, like losing weapons in combat, dealing with wounds or monitoring hydration levels.

The rumoured mode has been referred to by Tom Henderson in the past, and it’s starting to gain more traction. He suggested the mode would take place across a completely new map.

Whether or not this is real remains to be seen, so take this with a grain of salt. However, it seems like something we could realistically get in Modern Warfare 2.

Activision will be hoping for a good response to Modern Warfare 2 after the poor reception to Vanguard. Modern Warfare 2 is the next big release in the franchise, and players will be eager to see what’s next. This new mode could be exactly what some people are hoping for.
