Here’s Our First Look At The New Indiana Jones Movie

We’ve just received our first look at the new Indiana Jones movie, courtesy of the film’s star Harrison Ford.

Indiana Jones hasn’t had a new instalment in quite some time – not since Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008. But a new film is on the way, and we’ve just got a small glimpse of it.

At the Lucasfilms Studio Spotlight Showcase panel at Star Wars Celebration, Harrison Ford made a surprise appearance. He showed up at the panel and revealed a photo from the new Indiana Jones film. That picture doesn’t show us much, but it is the first look we’ve had at the upcoming film.

Harrison Ford also spoke about the film briefly. He said “We have almost completed the next Indiana Jones film featuring the music of John Williams. I had a wonderful experience with James Mangold, with Kathy…I’m really proud of the movie that we made.

Indiana Jones – Surprises in Store

Ford previously talked about fifth Indy film, explaining how he wanted to give audiences a film they didn’t expect. He said “I want to give them something they didn’t anticipate seeing. I think they’re used to a degree of disappointment when you revisit — I mean certainly the Marvel movies have made a spectacular example of success that worked the other way around. They killed it.

Well, we’re not going to make another Indiana Jones unless we’re in a position to kill it. We want it to be the best. So we’ve got some scheduling issues, a few script things still to do, but we’re determined to get it right before we get it made.

The new Indiana Jones film will star Harrison Ford, Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson. It won’t be directed by Steven Spielberg, as Logan director James Mangold is taking over. It releases on June 30th, 2023.
