Koji Igarashi Leaves Konami To Pursue New Game Developments

Koji Igarashi is now officially off the Konami bill. You may have known Koji for his work on the Castlevania series. For over 20 years Koji has been lending his hand in the Castlevania titles along with other video game development but it seems that these games wasn’t necessarily the titles Koji was interested in working with anymore.

Koji Igarashi explains further in detail, through Polygon, as to why he suddenly decided to call it quits with Konami and picked up his very own development studio.

“I’ve decided to break out on my own to have the freedom to make the kind of games I really want to make — the same kind I think fans of my past games want as well.

“Leaving Konami was a big decision, and not one I took lightly — I’ve spent my entire career there, made many friends, and had a lot of great opportunities — but I hope all the gamers and fans who have supported me in the past will join me in being excited about what comes next. Wish me luck!”

We’re in the dark at the moment as to what game will be the first to be developed under Koji’s new studio. Once we hear news as to what titles Koji has in mind of developing you can be sure we’ll have a post updated on the reveal!
