Call of Duty Devs Leak Own Game In The Best Way Possible

Activision has struggled to keep Call of Duty 2021 under wraps, and so has just decided to give us our first glimpse of the upcoming shooter.

Leaks have been spilling all over in the run-up to the supposed Call of Duty 2021 reveal coming soon. We’ve heard rumours of co-op campaigns, Modern Warfare engines and even a World War 2 setting. And the latter seems to have been confirmed in a recent post from Call of Duty.

As Call of Duty insiders Tom Henderson, @CharlieIntel, and @ModernWarfare spammed Twitter with a ton of reported information on the upcoming shooter, the official Call of Duty account addressed the matter.

The clip shows a destroyed European-styled city with bomber planes in the distance. This appears to back up claims of a WW2 setting.

An Upfront Approach for Call of Duty 2021

This is an uncharacteristic approach for the franchise, who for so long have remained tight-lipped on any information regarding their next entry until its official reveal. And it wasn’t just the official Call of Duty Twitter. Many other Call of Duty associated accounts, from Sledgehammer Games to Raven Software joined in on the fun.

However, with leaks surfacing as early as March, the amount of information stemming from the project did warrant addressing. And the approach seemed to work well with many Call of Duty fans, who respected the humourous reaction.

With Call of Duty titles typically releasing in November, it would be safe to assume we will know more about the game soon. A lot of interest lies, however, in how the game will continue the legacy of Warzone. Will we finally see a new map after Cold War’s disappointing 80s makeover? More importantly, will we see a serious counter to the game’s consistent cheating problem?

Regardless, with Call of Duty effectively leaking parts of their own game, momentum is building for an eventual reveal.
