It has been a long and arduous wait, but the Battlefield 2042 beta dates have finally been revealed, and it starts next week.
Battlefield fans have been through the wringer since 2042’s initial bombastic reveal in June. It immediately seemed like the revamp the series needed. However, in the months following fans were let down with a worrying lack of content. We got the occasional story trailer and the reveal for Battlefield Portal. But close to four weeks before its intended launch, Battlefield 2042 was delayed to November 19th.
However, it looks like the wait for Battlefield news is finally over. After rumours of various beta dates, EA have set the record straight. The Battlefield 2042 beta dates were finally revealed, and players only have to wait a week to dive into all-out warfare.
BETA TIME, BABY
The Battlefield 2042 beta will launch for early access across all platforms on October 6th. This part of the beta will unlock for players who either preordered or are members of EA Play. That means all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers should be able to get early.
The open beta will start a couple of days later on October 8th, and run until the 9th. In the biggest surprise of all, UK players will actually get the full day to play the Beta, as it goes live at 9AM BST.

The beta will just include one mode and map. Both conquest and the advertised Orbital will feature. Orbital was front and centre for a lot of trailers, and was even recently built to an impressive degree of detail with LEGO.
Four specialist will be available to try out in the beta, including Webster MacKay who wields a grapple hook. After messing around with the grapple hook in the Halo Infinite technical preview, I can’t get enough of swinging around. This will give next-gen players the first chance to check out manic 128-player matches. I’m genuinely brimming with excitement over it.

On the official Battlefield 2042 website, players can check out various tips and tricks to they can hit the ground running. Players can also check out Specialist details, FAQs, and even PC spec requirement.
The Battlefield 2042 beta will be available to play across all platforms when it launches its closed beta on the 6th and open beta on the 8th.
