Toy Story is one of those Pixar classics that just keeps on giving, and hits you right in the feels no matter which one you’re watching.
Despite the normal rule that if there’s loads of sequels, the old cast tend to not carry on – it has beaten the odds and managed to keep the two big A-list stars that have been attached from the start for the fourth edition.
While we still have to wait until summer next year for the release, today Pixar decided to drop the first official teaser trailer for the upcoming film and it’s already given me all kinds of goosebumps.

The gang are also joined by a new character, Forky, and the official synopsis for the film reads: “Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.”
So looks like Forky is going to be a bit of an issue for the gang.
Tim Allen and Tom Hanks (who voice Buzz and Woody) have both revealed in recent interviews that they’ve already finished the ending, and judging by their comments we are in for one big heartbreaking emotional ‘hit you in the feels’ kinda film, and I don’t know if my heart is ready for it.
Tom Hanks is the most recent to speak out, discussing the impact that he feels the film is going to have. “It was the first time that we were going to be recording the end of the movie, and Toy Story [4] is going to have an impactful ending,” he told The Chris Evans Breakfast Show.
“The way you record Toy Story, you’re in a room with the team that has created it. When I went in for my last day of recording, I wanted to have my back to them, because usually you’re facing him so he can look right up and you can talk about it.
“But I didn’t want to see them and pretend they couldn’t see me. When I realised what they were going for, I realised, ‘Oh, this is a moment in history’.”
A moment in history? Again, I’m getting the feeling this is going to be some tear jerker, especially considering he didn’t want to see the creators while he was finishing up on his lines. I’m not going to lie, though, I do feel like he’s inadvertently hyped up the fourth instalment now, though. He’s not the only one to reveal how ‘impactful’ he felt the fourth film was as Tim Allen also stated back in September that he’d had a pretty emotional time filming, himself.
“I gotta resist getting emotional. I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story.
“It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big, the idea they’ve come up with, I’m startled. I couldn’t even get through the last scene.
“I would love to be a Washington leaker. I just can’t do it. I can’t give any more away. They’ve got great characters but a couple of scenes toward the end were really hard to get through.”
Toy Story 4 is due to drop on our screens in July 2019, and to be completely honest I’m not ready for this impending emotional rollercoaster. Are you?
