Yep, you read that right. The next wave of information about Microsoft’s Project Scorpio could be released within the week.
According to trusted source Jez Corden, Senior Editor for Xbox at WindowsCentral.com, Microsoft will release more information to the public about their newest console before E3, and maybe even before this Saturday. This is huge news for fans of Xbox consoles because the Scorpio is going to be the most powerful console to ever hit the market by a considerable margin. In fact, it’s so powerful that it might even beat the specs of a top end gaming PC at a better price. Industry estimates have put the price of the Scorpio at around $700.
In addition to the news about the potential reveal, Corden also shared some interesting info about developer kits and possible Bluetooth support. Also, he confirmed that the Scorpio’s massive specs are final (6 teraflops of power, 8 CPU cores, 320 GB/s bandwidth, and true 4K gaming).
Even though Corden tweeted this information yesterday (which happened to be April Fool’s Day), he has reassured us that this isn’t a joke. However, due to the fact that the information hasn’t been confirmed by Microsoft, this news should be treated as rumor until further notice. Even though WindowsCentral.com has done an excellent job with information regarding Microsoft and their products in the past, there’s always a chance that the information Jez shared might not me 100% true.
