Hellboy is an absolutely classic franchise, which of course means it’s getting a revival with a brand-new cast, director and a pretty different look.
We’ve known for a while that a new Hellboy movie was on the cards, and now thanks to Lionsgate we’ve got the official trailer.

If you haven’t seen it, check it out below!

Ron Pearlman who played the eponymous Hellboy in the first two movies, directed by Guillermo Del Toro, has sadly been replaced by David Harbour for the new film.
This portrayal is closer to the comic books but i personally love Ron Perlman and his Hellboy. Not saying this one would be bad, could be awesome , just not expecting much

Although it definitely looks like a change of pace, fans are praising what we’ve seen of the performance, dubbing it “more like the comics.”
I think they both look great I’m really happy to see a more comic book accurate depiction of Hellboy, especially with the R rating… I thought the trailer was awesome. but the first two movies will always hold a special place in my heart, Ron Perlman is Fuckin Awesome!!!

This Hellboy is already paying more direct homage to the comic counterpart. And Ron Perlmans hellboy was never that nice. Theres a reason people dont talk about them movies.

The movie’s official description reads: “Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.”

The movie, which stars David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Daniel Dae Kim, and Sasha Lane, will get its release next year, 12th April, 2019.
