Nadeshot Thinks A Halo Battle Royale “Would Be The Best BR Ever Made”

Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag has made the bold suggestion that a Halo BR mode would be the best of the bunch.

The professional Call of Duty player turned co-owner of 100 Thieves esports team recently appeared on the OpTic Podcast. Speaking alongside Seth ‘Scump’ Abner, the two began to reminisce about their earlier days of playing Halo.

Both Scump and Nadeshot exclaim that Halo was the first game they became addicted to, endlessly rinsing the campaigns and falling in love with Halo 3’s ‘One Final Effort’ last mission.

The conversation then turns to Halo Infinite with the question raised about whether a BR mode would work in Halo. Nadeshot promptly jumps in, saying:

“I think a Halo BR might be the best BR ever made.”

The esports pro goes on to explain that the mechanics seen in Halo multiplayer would make for a refreshing take on the BR genre.

“You’ve got regenerative shields, you’ve got overshield, active camo – that s**t would be fire!”, he explains.

“Here’s the problem…!

While Nadeshot revels in the idea of what a Halo BR could be, he doesn’t have high hopes for Halo Infinite.

He continues:

“Here’s the problem – I’m pretty sure there’s been a billion dollars worth of budget for Halo Infinite. Something crazy, I forget the exact number… They spent a lot of money on this game, it keeps getting delayed. If that game flops… argh!”

It’s unlikely that Halo Infinite has had over a billion dollars spent on its development. The list of most expensive games is currently topped by Red Dead Redemption 2 with an estimated cost between $370-540m [via VentureBeat].

Ambitious cost estimates aside, Nadeshot has a point. Halo Infinite is in tricky waters after it received a year-long delay late last year. It’s expected to release before the end of 2021.

Nothing is confirmed as to whether Halo Infinite will incorporate a BR mode into its multiplayer. As Nadeshot implies, it would certainly be interesting to see 343 Industries give the genre a go, especially given that Infinite’s multiplayer is going free to play.
