Charging your doorbell is easy, but you may wonder just how long you need to go without your doorbell in use, which can be a security concern. If you are looking to know how long to charge the ring battery, you may find that there are a few different answers.
How Long To Charge Ring Battery
In short, it takes five to ten hours to charge a Ring battery that has fully depleted. This depends on if your micro-USB cable is plugged into a direct power source or an indirect power source. If your cable is plugged into a wall socket, it will take less time than if it is plugged into a USB drive, say, a computer.
Half A Charge? – How Long To Charge Ring Battery
You can always charge your ring battery up halfway and re-use it until you feel more comfortable charging your doorbell at a later time. Actually charging the Ring battery itself is a simple process too.
Just unscrew the screws on the base of the doorbell and lift the unit away from the wall. Remove the battery itself using the release tab. Then connect any micro-USB charger, including the orange one that came with the device, in the battery and into a power source. The battery will be fully charged when a green light appears.
Reverse The Steps
Once your Ring doorbell battery is fully charged, to place it back in, you basically need to reverse the steps. Slide the battery back into the doorbell, slide the doorbell back into the bracket on the wall, and screw back in the screws. It should take around 30 seconds for the doorbell to start up, and you’re all set until you next need to charge.
