Here’s Sean Bean’s reaction after finding out that he dies in the Civilization 6 launch trailer

Sean Bean thought he was actually going to make it out of one of his roles alive, but it turns out that’s not the case. When he agreed to take on the narration role in the epic Civilization 6 trailer, he had no idea that he was going to die in it. He seems very chill about the whole thing and it doesn’t phase him, he’s used to it by now.

“I… I thought I survived this?! I guess if I don’t, they’ll just get someone else to do the next one…” Sean laughed.

In the behind the scene video where he talks about what it was like doing voice work for Civ 6, Sean Bean discusses:

“I was in the dark, which was quite good for me because I didn’t know what was going on. I just learned as I was going, and therefore it was quite a surprise to me. It was very fresh and very spontaneous,” Bean says.

He also compared what it’s like to work on a video game, as opposed to his work in film, here’s how he compared the two:

“You just try to be as truthful as you are in filming, but you have the luxury of having all the lines in front of you, so that’s great!”

The trailer itself is brilliant, it takes us on a trip through countless generations of human history showing off mankind’s accomplishments and downfalls. From times of peace and prosperity, to war, to sailing the seas and covering new uncharted lands, to soaring through space to find new worlds:

That trailer was released a couple of months ago, but a new behind the scenes version featuring commentary by Sean Bean was just dropped. Here’s the new behind the scenes with Sean Bean:
