Half Of All Nintendo Switch Players Own These Three Games

It’s been confirmed by Nintendo that 50 per cent of Nintendo Switch owners in the US own the same three games – and it’s not difficult to guess which three.

The Switch has three titles of particular note, and tbf it’s not a bad collection of games to own.

They – of course – are The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey.

Breath Of The Wild launched alongside the console back in March 2017 and it jumped to become one of the most successful titles the Switch has seen.

The latest adventures of Link and Princess Zelda earned an incredibly impressive score of 97 on Metacritic, and it’s also the reason I picked up a Switch on launch day.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is probably the best Mario Kart ever, featuring all the best bits of Mario Kart 8 and packaging all the extras up into one nice bundle. The title is perfect for the Switch as your console comes with two JoyCons, meaning you don’t need to fork out for another controller just to play with your buddy. It stands at a solid 92 on Metacritic.

Super Mario Odyssey doesn’t really need an introduction. The Super Mario games are always basically flawless, and this was the first addition to the franchise in a long time. It utilised the best of the Switch’s capabilities and was incredibly fun. It earned itself a Metacritic score of 97.

Speaking to IGN, Nintendo’s legendary Reggie Fils-Aime said: “Those three games continue to attach to hardware at better than 50 percent,

“Just think about that. For everyone who owns a system, more than one out of every two have bought Zelda, more than one out of every two have bought Kart, more than one out of every two have bought Odyssey. That’s never happened in U.S. video game history.”
