The silent but deadly protagonist of Doom might soon be appearing in the recently-revealed Mortal Kombat 11 – at least if fans get their way.
A Reddit user by the name of Doughnut_Panda has been working hard to get people to petition for Doomguy to make an appearance in the upcoming game, and the post is getting some serious attention on the r/gaming subreddit.

The post has received a huge 66k of upvotes, so it’s looking pretty likely that the Mortal Kombat 11 devs will take note. Hopefully!
The reveal trailer for the game was one of the many surprise announcements of The Game Awards 2018, and it immediately sent the gaming community into a frenzy.
The eleventh instalment in the Mortal Kombat franchise looks gory AF if the trailer is anything to go by, and fans are ridiculously excited for its release.

Over on Twitter people claimed the reveal was the thing that “saved” TGA this year – especially since the trailer even gave us a release date.

Responding to the reveal, MK co-creator Ed Boon tweeted: “I’m really surprised nobody guessed we were working on a Mortal Kombat game.”
The official description for the game reads: “Mortal Kombat is back and better than ever in the next evolution of the iconic franchise.

“The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control to customize the fighters and make them your own.
“The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.”

Mortal Kombat 11 will release April 23rd 2019.
