Elon Musk reportedly called an all-hands business meeting at his SpaceX spacecraft factory at 1am last Sunday.
The billionaire, known for SpaceX and Tesla, called the meeting at his factory in Texas on Sunday, February 23rd. He wanted to know why his team wasn’t running the factory 24/7. The factory in question is building the Starship rocket system, which aims to take crew and cargo to the planet Mars.
Musk’s team had to explain that they needed more employees to fill shifts. As a result of the meeting, SpaceX hired another 252 workers. That instantly doubled the workforce at that particular factory.

Musk himself has stated he can be hard to work for. He believes no one ever changed the world on “40 hours a week”, but that if you love your job it doesn’t feel like work.
In a 2018 talk, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said “There’s no question that Elon is very aggressive on his timelines, but frankly, that drives us to do things better and faster.”
“I think all the time and all the money in the world does not yield the best solution, and so putting that pressure on the team to move quickly is really important.”
