Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition confirmed to run at 30fps/1080p on the PS4

Sony has recently announced that Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition will be available on the PS4 soon, free to players with PS Plus.

It has been revealed that Housemarque had some assistance on the PS4 port, helped by their partners Sony XDev Europe and Climax Studios. This means that the Housemarque’s other unknown project is in the works.

Housemarque announced on twitter:

“The original game was coded with 30fps in mind and it would have been near impossible to get 60fps for this reason.”

“[1080p/30fps], simply because the original was designed for 30fps. Making it 60fps would have required almost a complete code overhaul.”

“The original engine wasn’t built for 60.”

There will also be a Platinum trophy that will be achievable in the Apocalypse Edition. The leaderboards and list of trophies, will be different from the PS4 and PS3 versions.

The PS Vita version of Dead Nation is believed to be in development by Climax Studios.
