Cold War Players Unfairly Banned After Reaching High Rounds In Zombies Mode

Hordes of Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War players are getting inexplicably banned after reaching high rounds in Zombies.

The Reddit user Korlesa recently posted an extensive list of Activision support threads which highlight a monumental amount of players who are now permanently banned from playing Cold War.

Korlesa says that they have been banned themselves after reaching a high round in the Zombies game mode. They ended up getting kicked from the lobby with an error code that reads: “Sail 630 Nuclear Bug”. Once they restarted their Battle.net client, they became permanently banned from the game.

By corroborating evidence from multiple different accounts, players have managed to work out that the ‘Sail 630 Nuclear Bug’ is issued when players surpass round 50 in Zombies while playing on PC. The bug hasn’t yet appeared on consoles, that we know of.

Several other posts on Activision’s support site confirm Korlesa’s account. Though Activision has replied to some of the support tickets, they haven’t provided players with a concrete explanation as to why this is happening.

At the time, Treyarch Community Manager Josh ‘FoxhoundFPS’ Torres independently contributed to Korlesa’s post on Reddit. They said : “I am unable to assist with this issue. All infractions undergo a thorough review process by the security team before enforcement.”

The message contains a link to Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy which details the guidelines that Activision use to dish out bans.

What gives, Activision?

Since then, Torres has provided a little more clarification on the situation, claiming that the enforcements are not the result of a bug or error. In a reply to another post about the mysterious bans, they said: “Players are able, and encouraged, to maintain or resume normal Zombies gameplay.

“We’re continuing to monitor the situation and if we receive any additional updates from our teams then I will be happy to share them.”

There doesn’t currently appear to be any sort of fix for the ‘Sail 630 Nuclear Bug’. Activision is clearly aware of the situation, though if the bans really aren’t the result of a glitch in the system as they claim, it’s unclear if we’ll see a hotfix drop anytime soon.
