A data mine has discovered that Battlefield 2042 Season 1 may be called “Exposure” and isn’t expected to arrive until March 2022.
Battlefield 2042 released in November this year and it’s fair to say that it’s been a rough start. Within it’s first week the game became one of the worst reviewed games on Steam. It was even overtaken in player count by Farming Simulator 22. Developer DICE has promised to fix it’s buggy game with an extensive roadmap, however fans are less than happy with some of the recent updates.
Battlefield 2042 is supposed to be supported by a lengthy live service. DICE promises that this will bring new maps, specialists, weapons, and vehicles to the game over time. This is how games like Call of Duty and Fortnite operate and are usually better because of it. However, there’s currently no official word on when the first season of content will begin.
When does Battlefield 2042 Season 1 start?
A data miner who goes by the name of ‘temporyal’ has uncovered what Battlefield 2042 Season 1 might include, and when it might be coming. According to temporyal, the Battlefield 2042 preseason will last for 12-weeks. That takes us right up until March 2022.
There’s references to a new map that’s codenamed ‘Ridge’ that’s supposedly set in a Canadian-US research facility. Some of the flavour text mentions seismic activity, which could refer to some of DICE’s early plans for Battlefield 2042. In case you missed it, DICE previously planned for more ambitious natural disaster and weather effects in this new Battlefield game. However, these were scrapped to focus resources on just the tornado and sand storms we see in the game today. Maybe we’ll see an earthquake return in this new map?
