In a press release, the 2003 game is listed above fifteen other games in terms of what games would most like to see remastered. It beat out Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Metal Gear Solid, Bully and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.

The Simpsons: Hit And Run released in 2003, and was a Grand Theft Auto clone that centred around various different Simpsons characters. Those included Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Apu. You could also leave the vehicle and travel on foot, fighting giant robotic bees. Yes, I know exactly how that sounds, and no, I’m not using hyperbole. It was a beloved game at the time and that love has only strengthened since then. So, you can understand why people desperately want to see it remastered for a modern generation of consoles.

Is A Simpsons: Hit and Run Remaster possible?

Personally, I’m not entire sure I want a remaster (or a sequel) to The Simpsons: Hit And Run. The Simpsons isn’t exactly= a bastion of quality comedy right now. Any attempt to capture what made Hit And Run so good could easily lean into modern trappings of The Simpsons. It just wouldn’t be very funny. Still, I’d be remiss if I said I haven’t dreamt of it before.
