Sony has released invitations to their upcoming press announcement. The invitation simply reads “Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest.” We’re pretty sure this is the announcement for the PS Vita 2000. The next generation PS Vita has already been released in Japan so we already know what we can expect. Nevertheless, lets go over just what the upcoming PS Vita 2000 will contain.
Naturally, the next generation of the PS Vita will cut down in size making it just a tad slimmer by 20% and 15% lighter. If we follow suite with the launch in Japan then we should see six colors to choose from including white, black, blue, yellow, pink and olive green. Sony has dropped the OLED display and swapped it out with an LCD, the result of this change up will add onto the battery life by reportedly an hour. Another complaint we’ve seen in the past for the PS Vita is the lack of on board memory. If you wanted to play a game and save then you had to purchase a memory stick. Sony has fixed the issue with 1GB of built-in memory.
Once the press conference takes place we’ll know the latest on the the second generation PS Vita. Within the details, we’ll likely have an official release date and a price point for the portable gaming hand held. In the meantime, are you waiting to pick up the PS Vita until the second generation launches? Let us know in the comments below.
