Sony Has No Plans Just Yet For PS4/PS Vita Bundle

Recently, Gamespot had the chance to chat with Sony marketing exec John Koller where the question was brought up on a Vita PS4 bundle. Unfortunately. there’s no plans quite yet on releasing a bundle. While John Koller likes the idea of releasing this bundle into the wild it’s just not on the table for talks at the moment. Koller makes mention as to how the PS Vita is selling well without the bundle but the sudden spike of sales have occurred after the release of the PlayStation 4.

One thing that sticks out from the comments Koller made with Gamespot is that the company is looking to keep Sony’s PS Vita separate and not just an add-on for the PlayStation 4.

“I like the idea personally of being able to put them together if not as a bundle but as a marketed experience point,” Koller said. “So Vita we think fits very, very well as a companion device for the PS4. But, I stop there because I want to make sure Vita retains the beauty of what makes Vita Vita. And that’s that it’s got it’s own unique kind of bespoke games.”

One of the reasons the bundle may not happen for awhile is the price point. Sony is in the lead over Microsoft. The Sony PS4 console is $100 cheaper than the Xbox One but if you toss in the PS Vita which is $200 alone, that could persuade gamers to sticking with the Xbox One. This is merely just a thought and not something John Koller stated. What do you think? Would you pick up a bundle that features a PlayStation 4 and PS Vita?
