Yesterday, we reported the leak of placeholder titles in the code of the Pokemon Go app that refer to the inclusion of trading in the future. Well, in that same code, it appears that there is a reference to something else exciting: the inclusion of legendary Pokemon in the game. Finally.
The Silph Road, a great resource for all news and leaks regarding Pokemon Go, has a substantial list of all the place holder names that have been found in the code of the new app so far. Some of these lines of code refer to trading, like we reported yesterday, but some of them seem to refer to catching legendary Pokemon too.

The line that the user on The Silph Road refers to is “activity_catch_legend_pokemon,” which they note possibly refers to a command that will result in catching legendary Pokemon.
It’s possible that catching legendary Pokemon, if they really are going to be in the game in the future, could be a different process than regular creatures. Therefore, that’s why there is a separate command for it.
The old command that Niantic used for catching Pokemon was “activity_catch_pokemon,” so it’s possible that this different command points to a different method in order to catch legendary Pokemon.

The inclusion of legendary Pokemon like, Mew, Mew Two, Articuno and the rest is definitely something that players want to see.
Surely it’s something in the works for Niantic also, as they seem pretty in tune with their audience so far.
