Earlier this year, a leak suggested that God of War IV might be in development and that the game will not be set in Greek mythology but would instead feature a Norse mythological setting.
A bunch of artwork and an screenshot featuring Kratos also leaked. Interestingly, Kratos sported a beard in the screenshot. The setting made sense since Kratos has all but killed most of the Greek Gods by now.
However, more details have now emerged thanks to known industry insider and NeoGAF user Shinobi. He’s now teased that although Kratos might feature in the new game but he might not play the role of the protagonist. This mean we may play as an entire new hero for the majority of the game and the main storyline might revolve around our new protagonist.
The question isn’t whether God of War will be there (it will), the question is…is Kratos the main character?
The character in the screenshot definitely looks like Kratos though. You can check out the images of him over at PushSquare. Shinobi is known to be accurate when it comes to leaks and most of his teases have proved to be true.
Rumor also has it that the new God of War game will be shown during Sony’s press conference at E3 this year, and that it’s actually heading for a fall 2016 release window. We’ll keep you updated as more details are revealed.
