Sony has informed its retail partners that the PS4 pre-orders that are placed after Monday are most unlikely to be fulfilled on the launch day. The decision to impose a limit on pre-orders comes after Sony faced an unprecedented barrage of pre-orders that overshot their estimates.
Consumers have been effectively given an August 5 deadline after retail sources confirmed the same.
Pre-orders will nonetheless be taken after August 5, but with a catch that they may not be fulfilled on the release day. There has been no official confirmation from Sony as of now.
What about you? Have you pre-ordered that PS4 yet? Do let us know.
