Major retailers are running out of stock fast for the PS Vita. A huge interest of the handheld picked up recently leaving Sony working overtime to bring out new stock. The interest is good not only for Sony but gamers who are looking for further support on their handheld.
One Sony representative spoke with Polygon stating the following.
We’re seeing healthy consumer demand for PS Vita globally, particularly in markets like Japan. The U.S. launch of the slimmer and lighter PS Vita has generated strong interest among gamers, and we’re working to replenish supply here to ensure continued momentum leading into the holidays.
Not too long ago, Sony was interesting in taking off AAA video game support for the PS Vita and instead focusing on indie video game titles. There was also more of a push to support the PS4 through the PS Vita. Now that the interest is picking up on the PS Vita that could change.
While only time will tell, we’re interested in seeing how well Sony’s latest handheld does compared to their previous handheld system, the PlayStation Portable.
