The Last of Us Receiving New DLC

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us will have more DLC coming out in the future. However, it will be multiplayer focused. Don’t expect the story to continue on just yet.

The Last of Us has one DLC currently that is for singleplayer and continues on with the story. Left Behind is the DLC that takes place before the events in The Last of Us and focuses on what happened with Ellie before she met her faithful transporter.

While The Last of Us Remastered will have all the DLC for the game, one thing it will not have is any continuation in terms of the story. Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer spoke with Digital Spy about the future of The Last of Us. One of the things mentioned during the interview was that Naughty Dog will continue to support both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 version of the game.

We just wanted to say when we released the Remastered version, we know there’s a lot of DLC out there, and that we weren’t going to stop supporting both the PS3 and PS4 versions.

Though there is no plans at all for a singplayer themed DLC, The Last of Us does have future DLC that will release down the line. These are of course set for multiplayer use according to Arne Meyer.

We do have some DLC planned; it’ll be multiplayer-focused. We’re not ready to talk about the details yet, but throughout the rest of the year we’ll have some DLC drops.

The Last of Us Remastered will be releasing on July 29, 2014 for the PlayStation 4.
