Insider leaks huge Red Dead Redemption 2 secret

There’s a new leak from the same Rockstar-insider who has been accurate in the past with multiple GTA V leaks, and this time it’s about the hugely-anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 that they’re revealing some secrets about. This isn’t any kind of official announcement from Rockstar, but any leaks at all are very welcome at this point, we know next-to-nothing about the upcoming sequel other than it’s existence.

We’ve had one official statement from Strauss Zelnick of Take-Two:

“I think the times are right for a big, sprawling, optimistic view of America again – and that’s not meant to be cute.”

And the following, which was released alongside the first teaser trailer for the game:

“Red Dead Redemption 2′ is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”

Now, onto the new stuff. Some of this may not be all that surprising, but some of it certainly will be. Also, keep in mind that none of this is written in stone, and Rockstar could very well change direction at any point, but as it stands now, here’s the best information we’ve got, starting with what’s staying the same:

“It’ll be just like Redemption. Single player story, open world, stranger events, gang hideouts and all that shit,”

As for the changes?

“Three playable characters of John’s former gang, and John isn’t one.”

On top of that, the same insider revealed that there won’t be an online mode for RDR 2 upon launch, but that this featured will be added-on after the initial release. We’ll keep you posted as new informationĀ leaks and becomes officially confirmed. This is one of the most anticipated games, and Rockstar will undoubtedly take their time on it, but RDR2 can’t come soon enough.
