Here’s Everything We Know About Black Desert’s ‘Shadow Arena’ Beta

The hotly anticipated Shadow Arena is FINALLY getting a stand-alone release, and it might be sooner than you think! The beta for the Black Desert spin-off battle royale began on February 27th, and fighters are battling it out until March 8th.

This battle royale was originally based in the MMORPG Black Desert. Fans will be delighted to know that Shadow Arena will play just like it was in Black Desert. The goal, unsurprisingly, is to outlive everyone else, in a map inspired by the oh-so-familiar MMO landscape.

The beta had a bit of a rocky launch, with access to the Shadow Arena being limited due to ‘technical issues’.

The beta is back up and running now, and players seem happy with what they have!

Just like in Black Desert, gamers must fight powerful monsters and collect treasures in order to destroy the competition and win the battle.

You will start your match as a ‘Black Spirit’, but can quickly possess playable classes in Black Desert Online. In this exclusive beta, players can choose from a range of classes; the Warrior, Sorceress, Berserker, Tamer, Valkyrie, Wizard, Witch, Dark Knight and Mystic. These nine different playstyles all have unique pros and cons. I can’t wait to try them all out myself!

Kakao Games is calling it a “battle royale experience like no other”. Despite the similarities to the BR mode Skyforge rolled out in 2018, we’re willing to believe them. Our hype is certainly building!

If you’ve played the game mode in Black Desert, this stand-alone release is going to be a must-have! Not only will you get to replay a great Battle Royale, but you’ll also have an advantage of familiarity over all the noob players.

Despite the beta being well underway, there’s still no news on a release date. Fans expect it to drop in full within the first half of 2020, but there’s no official confirmation yet.

There’s also no word on a console or mobile release for the upcoming spin-off. But will you be playing Black Desert’s spin-off battle royale game when it finally drops?
