A new update from 343 Industries has confirmed that Halo Infinite campaign co-op has been delayed once again.
The post by Joseph Staten on Halo Waypoint laid out the future of the game. It mentioned long-awaited features, including co-op, Forge mode and new multiplayer maps.
Unfortunately, campaign co-op is taking them longer than expected. That means it won’t be releasing when Season 2 comes out. However, it will be coming out at some point during the season, though we don’t have an official date yet.
The post says “the reality is that it’s going to take more time to land a high-quality, full-featured 4-player network co-op experience in the massive, wide-open world of Halo Infinite. We’re also committed to a great 2-player split-screen co-op experience on all Xbox consoles, from the original Xbox One through Xbox Series X—and the non-linear, wide-open sections of the Campaign present some big challenges for split-screen that have taken us more time to solve.“
Season 2 of Halo Infinite is called Lone Wolves. It will feature a new battle pass, and launch with two new multiplayer maps. The first map is an arena map called Catalyst, and looks like a forerunner structure similar to those in the campaign. You can take a look below. The second new map is called Breaker, and it’ll be playable in Big Team Battle.
We also got some news about Forge, which is still on track to launch with Season 3 of Halo Infinite. The team is working with community creators to ensure the Forge experience will be good when it launches. They also plan to release public flights for the mode at some point this year.
