The release date for God of War: Ragnarok has finally been confirmed by Sony. The game will release on Wednesday, November 9th 2022.
The game will release on both PS4 and PS5. It follows Kratos and his son Atreus as they fight to survive against mounting dangers.
A new CGI trailer has been shared by Sony, depicting the characters in the midst of a battle. Kratos and Atreus team up to take on some foes, before being stared down by a colossal wolf.
This news comes after a long wait for an announcement which prompted some fans to harass Santa Monica Studio, the developers behind the game. In response to people demanding to know when the game would be out, director Cory Barlog said the game wasn’t delayed and would release in 2022.
Now we have confirmation of that, and those so-called fans are looking even more foolish. All you had to do was wait a few more days, guys.
Ragnarok is Coming
Regardless, it’s exciting news for fans of the God of War franchise and PlayStation gamers alike. Ragnarok is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year.
God of War won Game of the Year at the Game Awards back in 2018. It was a hugely cinematic experience which won many people over, even those who weren’t interested in God of War previously. Ragnarok looks to be a great continuation of the same Norse mythology inspired version of God of War.
A post by PlayStation reads “We’re thrilled be able to share our release date and the brand-new God of War Ragnarok – Father and Son CG Trailer with all the God of War fans who have been eagerly awaiting news. We hope you’ve enjoyed a glimpse at some of the dangers Kratos and Atreus could find themselves up against as Ragnarok approaches.”
