We can expect to see news for various Ubisoft titles, including the next Assassin’s Creed, at a multi-game showcase this September.
The company has been somewhat quiet recently. We got news about Mario and Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, but there hasn’t been much else out of the Ubisoft camp lately. However, we now have confirmation of a showcase which will be broadcast in September.
Firstly though, the company is planning to show off the pirate game Skull and Bones at a new Ubisoft Forward tomorrow July 7th. We haven’t heard much about the game until now, but there are reports that the game is going to come out this year.
Then on September 10th we get another showcase. Ubisoft says Ubisoft Forward “returns in full force, ready to reveal updates and news on multiple games and projects from Ubisoft teams around the world.” The event will be broadcast at 3PM ET/8PM GMT.
What will show up at Ubisoft Forward?
As for what could be shown at the September event, it’s safe to assume Assassin’s Creed will be there. The franchise has ditched the annual releases, and the last one was Valhalla in 2020. So there’s a good chance we’ll get the first glimpse of whatever the next title will be.
Reports suggest that the next Assassin’s Creed will be a live-service game, apparently called Assassin’s Creed Infinity. It that sounds like a strange idea to you, you’re not alone. But if that rumour is true, we’ll probably see it at the event.
Other franchises include Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon. It’s unknown if any of these franchises will show up at the showcase.
And there’s even Beyond Good and Evil 2, which Ubisoft announced years ago. I’m personally hoping this project is still alive and well, but the news hasn’t been too promising over the years.
