Fans Petition For Red Dead Redemption 2 Single-Player DLC

Red Dead Redemption 2 released two and a half years ago now with no Single-Player DLC in sight.

However, some dedicated fans haven’t given up hope as nearly 7,000 people have signed a petition for Rockstar Games to release Single-Player DLC for their hit wild west game.

The petition was started by Ivan Ojeda shortly after Red Dead Redemption 2 released in November 2018. Last week, the petition overtook 6,000 signatures and is approaching 7,000.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has seen updates since its launch in the form of its multiplayer component, Red Dead Online. But for many fans, multiplayer updates aren’t enough – they’re craving more single-player story.

One comment from Darren Walters reads: “I have no interest at all in RDO [Read Dead Online]. I would gladly pay another $20-30 for some new single-player content, or even another $60 if it’s robust enough, but Rockstar won’t be getting a dime from me in online microtransactions.”

Rockstar Games never released any DLC for their last global success, Grand Theft Auto V, despite supporting the Online mode religiously even eight years later. Despite the lack of single-player updates, Take-Two CEO, Stauss Zelnick recently said that Rockstar Games remains committed to single-player experiences.

Maybe Rockstar has a *plan*!

The story of Red Dead 2 wrapped up fairly conclusively, given that the game is a prequel to Red Dead Redemption and leads almost directly into its predecessor.

That said, there are some notable characters that we’d love to see more of. Sadie Adler is a fan favourite character who would make an excellent lead character in a story of her own. That said, Rockstar could be saving that story for her own game entirely.

Rockstar Games aren’t shy about taking their time when it comes to their single-player games. With ten years between both of the Red Dead Redemption games and GTA V coming up on its eighth anniversary, it’s fair to say that it might be a while before we see anything totally new in the world of Red Dead.
