Elden Ring Is The Highest Reviewed Game Of All Time On OpenCritic

Elden Ring has become the highest reviewed game of all time on OpenCritic following a wave of reviews yesterday.

Elden Ring is the latest game from developers FromSoftware. It’s perhaps the most highly anticipated game of the year, and that’s saying a lot in a year where God of War: Ragnarok and Breath of the Wild 2 are set to release.

And it has already risen through the ranks on OpenCritic to become the highest reviewed game on the website. Elden Ring has narrowly beaten Super Mario Odyssey to claim the top spot after 80 scores, with more still coming in.

What Do Reviews Say?

GameByte’s review described it as, “a love letter to the Soulsborne fanbase, incorporating dramatic fragments of each past game into a single product that is rewarding and fulfilling.”

The critic consensus reads, “Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s best work yet and one of the highest rated games of all time. With refined, accessible, and satisfying combat in a vast, beautiful, and intriguing open world, players will find a lot to love.”

IGN says, “Elden Ring is a massive iteration on what FromSoftware began with the Souls series”. And Eurogamer described it as, “Grandiose, mysterious, but now a touch more welcoming.”
