2022 is already completely and utterly insane. What with an Uncharted movie, a reveal about Spider-Man ‘s butt, and the most wild thing of all – Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al Yankovich in a biopic. Radcliffe has spoken more about the role, revealing what we’ll be seeing.
In an interview with People, Radcliffe showed off his first look at his take on Weird Al Yankovich. He also discussed the role in further detail:
“Wearing the Hawaiian shirt is a huge responsibility that I don’t take lightly, and I’m honoured to finally share with the world the absolutely 100 percent unassailably true story of Weird Al’s depraved and scandalous life.”
Little is known about the movie, especially in regards to how closely it’ll stick to the life of Weird Al. Personally, I feel that it’ll take deviations in the name of entertainment, showing a more unrealistic take on his world. But that’s just speculation, for now. Radcliffe is one of the most professionally successful of the Harry Potter trio since the movies ended. His previous roles include leading roles in Guns Akimbo and The Lost City Of D.
Yankovich himself spoke about the casting earlier this year. He stated that he’s “absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying him”. He also added, “I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role that future generations will remember him for.”
