Dog Scores A Goal In Rocket League, Already A Better Player Than Me

A dog has scored a goal in Rocket League, proving that they’re a much better player than me.

Esports athlete ChellChee posted a video on her Twitter last night, showing her dog Apollo holding a game controller in his mouth while a game of Rocket League was on. Apollo appears to move the car forward to score a goal. You can watch the full clip below.

Now, before you get too excited, it seems as though the dog wasn’t actually in a game with other players or AI. But even so, we have to applaud this good boy’s skills on the field. I’ve played a bit of Rocket League and I’m awful at it, so I’m willing to admit a dog could be better at it than me.

It’s also possible this is fake. This is the internet after all, and the premise is a little too good to be true. It’s not impossible that ChellChee could have edited the video to make it appear as though Apollo was really playing the game.

But since we don’t have confirmation of that, I’m choosing to believe this is real. The world is a horrible place at the moment and this little clip of a good dog scoring a goal has brought me some joy. Yes, I’m 100% behind Apollo and his excellent Rocket League skills.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an animal show off their excellent video game skills. Back in 2016 YouTuber Jess Bell showed off their dog doing a Hadouken in Street Fighter 2. There’s also that time lots of cats got into Fruit Ninja. I’d like to see my cat become a pro at Dark Souls next.
