Doctors are warning people against doing the Floss Dance

A knee specialist has warned people to stop doing the ‘floss’ as it is apparently damaging knees worldwide.

Physician, Ed Thompson, spoke to the Mirror, after medics warned that the dance’s popularity has resulted in a substantial increase in cases of “floss knee.”

Thompson said: “Flossing involves a very lateral movement from left to right, but the knee is made to move in a hinge motion,

“This movement isn’t normal so can cause pain. When people come into my practice complaining with pains in the inner knee, they believe it’s because of dancing. When I press them on the dance moves they use, it tends to be flossing.”

The knee specialist from Instant Physio in London said the phenomenon is similar to “Blackbery Thumb” and “iPad Shoulder,” unique pains caused by the widespread adoption of new electronic devices.

He continued: “People move their bodies, especially their joints, in ways that they are not meant to and this can cause pain.”

Well, there you go.

Earlier this year, a school banned the ‘floss’ dance because pupils were using it to ‘intimidate their classmates’.

Yup, the stupid dance (that made its way into the mainstream after being featured by ‘backpack kid’) was banned.

Ilfracombe Junior School in Devon decided enough was enough because of its connections to the “violent” and “addictive” game. Plus, you know, the whole intimidating their classmates thing.

The headteacher wrote to the parents and said: “We want our school to be one in which human beings treat each other with kindness and appreciation.

“Fortnite is for 12 years plus. Fortnite is about mass killing of other human beings and being awarded by a dance of celebration if you are successful.

“One of these dances is called the Nazi dance!

“Fortnite is extremely addictive and playing violent games is associated with real-life aggressive behaviour and mental health issues.

“Children in our school have been using these dances to surround and intimidate other children.”

Parents quickly went to social media to ridicule the odd request, and said their children just enjoyed doing the dance. Apparently, some of them had not even heard of Fortnite (losers).

Quite a few parents also added that the idea of being intimidated by classmates who can do the dance is ‘ridiculous’. Yeah, I can’t help but agree.

This comes after a petition to ‘get rid of Fortnite’ managed to attract thousands of signatures.

As you can see here, it gained popularity very quickly.

The initial post read: “Hey all signers! i know all of you are hopeful this game goes down the drain and with all the attention it’s getting It seems possible. With over a million players worldwide the most they could do would be putting restraints on It in some way which i hope could still help all of you (and me) with your significant others and kids.”

After the petition started gaining traction, the originators posted an update: “okay so i see this blew up. It was originally made as a joke and Initially i hated fortnite but i started playing It and it’s actually kinda fun. Me and my friend were just joking and we hoped people would notice but,I see how the game can take away from family time and It is a problem in that sense. I also see how mothers get annoyed and wife’s/girlfriends when their significant others ignore them for It.

“Regardless we never knew this would blow up so big. It was initially a joke but It seems to be a rising issue within families because everyone has been so addicted to It. The game has caused quite an uproar with a lot of women and i definitely see how. We made this petition 2 months ago and totally forgot about It I hope nobody gets too upset over this petition (we might leave It up because It got very noticed from many websites and news articles and It seems it’s actually a serious problem from when It was made 2 months prior). This is my last edit of this petition i hope you all aren’t too upset from what It was originally.”

One signer commented: “Fortnite is annoying, it is distracting when people talk about it in class. It is lowering my friend’s grades as they are addicted to it. I don’t know what to do, she’s throwing her life away for the game.”

While another simply added: “PUBG is better”. Fair.
