A recent Cold War and Warzone leak has revealed that a Black Ops fan favourite will return in the upcoming Season 6 as a new operator.
Recent seasons of Cold War and Warzone have introduced characters such as Kitsune, Stryker and Hudson to multiplayer. However, with the fifth season wrapping up in the next week, Season 6 needs a poster child.
Luckily for us, a recent leak revealed that Black Ops legends, Alex Mason will star as the latest operator.
THE RETURN OF A BLACK OPS LEGEND
Alex Mason is a one of the Black Ops series biggest characters. Starring in the first Black Ops, as well as Black Ops 2, Mason is deeply tied to The Numbers. He did feature in the Black Ops Cold War campaign, with this appearance marking his fourth return to the franchise.
According to a recent leak from PlayStation Game Size, Mason will star as the Season 6 operator. While this is just a poster and a confirmation of his presence, we don’t know how he will impact the overall story.
Season 6 will reportedly launch on October 7th, and will be the last Cold War and Warzone season before the launch of Vanguard. We do not have a concrete launch date for the first Vanguard season. However, it is believed that it will bring with it the new Pacific Warzone map.
Hopefully fans will receive a more meaningful continuation of The Numbers story with the return of Mason. Fans were disappointed by a repetitive and boring event, that could be completed in as little as three Warzone matches.
With the launch of Season 6 just over a week away, I’d expect an announcement from Activision soon. Hopefully, Season 6 won’t repeat the mistakes of Season 5 with a last minute 24 hour delay.
