Someone received Battlefield 2042 early, and as a result we’ve got our first look at the full number of weapons in the game.
Battlefield 2042 is right around the corner, but someone managed to get a hold of a copy ahead of time. They posted a screenshot of the game’s weapon selection on the Battlefield 2042 subreddit. Judging by the image they shared, it seems like players won’t have too many options at launch.
It’s important to take this with a grain of salt – after all, the game isn’t actually out yet. But the image shows every weapon type available, along with the number of weapons per class. Some of these weapon types are pretty limited. You can take a look for yourself below.
The image shows most weapon types will only have around 3 options. It looks like we’re only getting two LMGs, and the other classes aren’t exactly stacked with choices either. This may not be a big deal to some, but players on Reddit weren’t pleased with the options.
One comment brought up the claim that Battlefield 2042 has “no singleplayer to focus on online content”, suggesting there should have been more guns as a result.
However, Battlefield fans can probably expect more guns to be added overtime, such is the nature of multiplayer shooters. There’s also Battlefield Portal, which offers ways to customise game settings including weapons.
We’ll have to wait and see how the weapon choices fare when the game launches this month.
