Popular Twitch Streamers ‘Amouranth’ and ‘Indiefoxx’ were both banned recently after simulating ear-licking ASMR on Twitch.
The two streamers, Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa and Jenelle ‘Indiefoxx’ Dagres, were both banned this week after they experimented with a new format of streaming content. On stream, they would both dress up in yoga pants and simulate ear licking with an ASMR microphone.
This new form of content was deemed to breach the Twitch community guidelines, which state that sexually suggestive content is prohibited. Specifically, there are clauses that say:
- “Fetishizing behavior or activity, such as focusing on body parts for sexual gratification or erotic role play
- “Simulated sex acts or sexual stimulation”
The two streamers have been embroiled in guideline disputes before. Last month, they were both reaching high viewer numbers while partaking in the ‘hot tub meta’. That saw several streamers sit in inflatable pools while wearing bathing suits and talking to their chats.
While Amouranth initially had her advertising revenue revoked after the hot tub meta controversy, Twitch eventually backtracked on its decision. It added a dedicated hot tub category and said:
“While we have guidelines about sexually suggestive content, being found to be sexy by others is not against our rules, and Twitch will not take enforcement action against women, or anyone on our service, for their perceived attractiveness.”
Twitch is yet to respond
Following the ban, Indiefoxx made light of the situation on Twitter:
Hey @Amouranth wanna go to a spa since we both have the weekend off? I could really use a tongue massage.— Indiefoxx 🌙 OF (@indiefoxxlive) June 19, 2021
Amouranth shared in the humour. She remarks that, since her ban on Twitch, she has seen an additional 587 subscribers to her OnlyFans account.
Amouranth doesn’t seem surprised by her latest ban, saying that her mistake was to push her content “too far”.
Both Amouranth and Indiefoxx have since been unbanned with Amouranth already making a return to streaming. Twitch is yet to release an official response as to its thoughts on the new ASMR ear-licking meta.
