Twitter has just blown up over in Japan where numerous people have tweeted that The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword is headed to the Nintendo Switch.
The news comes from the The Legend of Zelda concert which took place in Osaka earlier today [via MyNintendo], with many attendees saying that Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma teased the upcoming release to the shocked audience.
Skyward Sword definitely isn’t the most popular game of the Zelda franchise, but that’s mostly down to its somewhat-unresponsive control mechanics.
Originally released on the Wii, lots of players found it much easier to play without the motion controlled Wii-motes, which tracked your movements for “precise” sword use.
It’s now been seven years since the game released on the Wii though, so maybe that means the Nintendo Switch’s JoyCons are going to be better-suited to the title…?
The news, which only broke in the last couple of hours, has yet to be confirmed by any Nintendo or Zelda reps, and as of yet, there’s still no translation of what the cryptic tease actually said.
From what I gather Aonuma and Shimamura (voice of Zelda) were both there. They brought it up and there was a huge cheer from the crowd. Sorry, that’s all I have at the moment!

Strong rumours coming out of Japan that a Zelda: Skyward Sword remaster is coming to the Switch. That would do for me until the next new #Zelda turns up.

Skyward Sword on switch just makes so much sense and I hope it happens
I would love to play one of my favorite games of all time anywhere— Linky @ Harlock (@LinkieArt) November 25, 2018
