Call of Duty: Warzone is now giving players god mode in an effort to combat cheaters.
This new anti-cheat method is being introduced as a part of the Ricochet anti-cheat system. This is a new system designed to fight against the cheating problem in Call of Duty games.
God mode is where players gain an invincible shield preventing them from taking damage. In Call of Duty, this translates to players being granted immunity to cheater’s damage when they are detected in-game. This is called a “Damage Shield”, and renders cheaters attacks useless against other players if they are detected.

Damage Shields
A post by Team Ricochet explained, “One mitigation technique we’ve been testing is something we call Damage Shield. When the server detects a cheater is tampering with the game in real-time, it disables the cheater’s ability to inflict critical damage on other players.
“This mitigation leaves the cheater vulnerable to real players and allows Team Ricochet to collect information about a cheater’s system.”
The post has ensured that players won’t be randomly getting this new god mode ability when they’re not supposed to. That would be a pretty quick way to ruin games, so hopefully that statement ends up being true.
