Sony has released an official statement through Twitter that the next PlayStation 4 firmware update will allow 3D Blu-Ray playback.
Coming next week: PS4 system software update 1.75 adds 3D Blu-ray film support. Woo-hoo!

Sony released the 1.74 firmware update earlier this week which only fixed a few stability issues. The update itself wasn’t mandatory either but Sony did mention that future games may require gamers to have the latest firmware in-order to play. Now a bigger firmware update is coming down the pipeline stated for a release next week.
This firmware update will bring the PlayStation 4 software to 1.75 and will be adding 3D Blu-ray film support. We’re unsure if there will be any other updates coming with the 1.75 firmware as of yet. Sony had mentioned in the past that the PS4 will be eliminating the time it takes to load video games and save states as well.
We will of course keep you updated with the latest PlayStation 4 related news. Stay tune as there will be more details likely to follow during this year’s San Diego comic-con.
