A new trailer for ELVIS has dropped, showing us a proper look at the biopic and its stars, including Austin Butler and Tom Hanks.
ELVIS is directed by Baz Luhrmann, and stars Austin Butler as Elvis Presley himself. Tom Hanks plays Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’ infamous manager.
The film will look at Elvis’ life from his beginnings and through his musical career, as well as his complicated relationship with his manager. It’s the latest in a line of musical biopics, following films like Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody.

When asked about playing Elvis, Austin Butler said, “He’s such an icon and he’s held up to a superhuman status. So to get to explore that for years now and learn why he was the way that he was and find the human within that icon. That was really such a joy that I could do it for the rest of my life probably. That paired with the fact that I get to work with one of the greatest filmmakers to ever live.”
He also stated that he didn’t just want to do an “Elvis impersonation”, but rather capture the life within the iconic music star.
ELVIS comes to theaters on the 24th of June, 2022. It’ll only be available in theaters, so don’t expect it to come to streaming right away.
