‘The Batman’ Is DC’s Most Successful Movie Since 2016

The Batman is DC’s most successful movie since 2016, if the weekend numbers are anything to go by.

The Batman launched this past week and is already shattering previously established DC records, along with a huge audience rating.

Despite the multiple delays due to Covid-19, the various issues in development and other issues it seems that people were extremely excited for this newest take on the character.

Deadline has reported that The Batman is the best opening for Warner Bros since 2016’s Suicide Squad. The Batman has had a $128 million opening weekend, making it also the peak for director Matt Reeves. In addition to all of this, it’s also the best opening weekend of all of 2022.

The Batman is a return to the detective roots of the character, taking a deeper look into why he’s known as the worlds greatest detective. It’s gone through a long arduous development after Ben Affleck dropped out of the film back in 2017.

Matt Reeves was chose to direct the film not long after, and casting Pattinson around the same time. Reeves himself has admitted he only agreed to join the film after being promised guaranteed creative freedom.

The Batman is out now in cinemas. It stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler/Edward Nigma, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Colin Farrell as The Penguin and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.
