Sony: “The Order: 1886” trademarked for the US

Something called “The Order: 1886” has been trademarked by Sony in the United States for use in computer and video game software. This new trademark is being registered after Sony has already registered “The Order” in Europe through the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property. Also the domain name TheOrder1886.com had been registered by a private registration company last month.

Rumors are abound that this new venture might be a Guerrilla Games initiative because the Benelux economic union is formed by the  Netherlands, where Killzone studio Guerrilla Games is located, together with Belgium and Luxembourg. Moreover, the developer is said to be working on a new IP.

By the number 1886, some possible inferences can be made. The year 1886 was replete with many events like the Easter uprising, the Seattle riots and the Chicago riots.
