Xbox One X ‘exclusives’ that are also releasing on PS4

Yesterday, a lot of people were confused during Microsoft’s E3 press conference when game after game was shown as being a “Xbox One Launch Exclusive”. People weren’t really sure what that actually means or if the games will be coming to other platforms as well.

The answer to that question is a resounding yes, most of these games will be releasing day and date with the Xbox One version on other platforms, while some of these will be releasing at a later date on other platforms such as the PS4 Pro, while the Xbox One and Xbox One X will get them first.

We take a look at all such games that’ll be releasing on other platforms such as the PS4 alongside Xbox One X which were shown as being ‘exclusive’ during Microsoft’s press conference.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

The first game to feature in this list is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The game has garnered a lot of attention during Microsoft’s E3 conference as Brendan Greene, the PlayerUnknown himself revealed the details of the Xbox One X version of the game.

The game, which has already sold more than 3 million copies in PC will first be available in Early Access. The game will also be released for PS4, but only a couple of months after the initial launch on Xbox One X.

Metro Exodus

Another game that has impressed all during Microsoft’s E3 conference is Metro Exodus. The game, developed by Ukraine based developers 4A Games’ looks great. Initially there were some confusions about the PS4 release of the game, but now it seems like both Xbox One X and PS4 versions will release at the same time.

Anthem

Anthem is BioWare’s next big thing. The upcoming open world sci-fi adventure looks gorgeous and is scheduled to release in 2018. The game’s marketing right is owned by Microsoft, but it seems both PS4 and Xbox One X will have simultaneous releases. However, the Xbox One X’s version will have some additional content.

Dragon Ball Fighter Z

If you are a Dragon Ball Z fan, you’ll be excited to know that the game is being developed by Yokohama-based developer Arc System Works. This is the same developer which made the perfect 2D games for the franchise. The PS4 fans will be happy that a PS4 version of the game has also been confirmed during the press conference at E3.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm

The next game to feature in this list is Life is Strange: Before the Storm. The game is scheduled to release on August 31 on both Xbox One X and PS4. However, we are not still sure whether the game will be a prequel or a new game with entirely new characters.

Assassin’s Creed Origins

It has been confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed Origins series will release on PS4. The game will release on October 27 on PS4, two weeks earlier than the Xbox One X version. The next Assassin’s Creed game will take place in Egypt as the players will try to find out the secrets of the pyramids.

Some of the other titles are:

– Conan Exiles

– Black Desert Online

– Code Vein

– Shadow of War

Rest assured, while some of the games above will release a little later on PS4, others will be day-and-date with their Xbox One X counterparts so don’t fret, you’ll still be playing the latest and greatest on PS4 for some time yet.
