Fans of the Red Dead series have been on cautious high alert for months regarding news of a sequel to the incredible Red Dead Redemption. Rumours near the start of the year suggested that a big reveal from Take-Two about a sequel would be seen at E3. However, nothing appeared. Apparently the big reveal was relating to Take-Two’s other project, Mafia 3.
Recently though, some new rumours have begun to take shape.
New reports suggest that we could be seeing a two protagonist driven story in the sequel. Sadly, information regarding settings, character names or anything else hasn’t surfaced, so that’s currently all there is to go on.
Along with that, nothing has been confirmed as of yet by either Take-Two or Rockstar, so the rumours shouldn’t be taken for gospel. However, we may yet see at least something about a new Red Dead game come to light at the upcoming Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
Take-Two will be making an appearance at the event. Although Take-Two has stated that the next Rockstar game won’t be seen until at least April of next year, they also stated that Rockstar has recently been working on some exciting new projects. Therefore, there’s still the chance some new piece of information about the sequel will pop up at the event.
There’s not much to go on, but any news is exciting news concerning Rockstar. The rumours may end up all being utter nonsense. The next Red Dead game may not even be set in the Wild West for some reason. With Rockstar’s track record though, there’s no doubt that if and when a sequel does appear, it’ll be absolutely amazing.
