Sony announced earlier this year that both the PlayStation versions of Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag would have exclusive content. Each would get an extra hour-long mission. Now we know that is only for a while.
PlayStation 3 and 4 players will enjoy the exclusivity of the extra content for 6 months, half a year. After that everyone will have access to it. This asterisk comes from Sony’s new PlayStation 4 sizzle reel.
Over the last generation Microsoft held the exclusives over Sony’s head for most of the run. They had the extra content first and got the first taste of the indie games, sometimes for years at a time. Sony seems to have learned a trick or two, but overall such things look like they may matter less.
